Depart: West River #3 Anchorage 8:10
Arrive: Delaware City Marina 4:50
Distance: 72 nm
We left our anchorage on a sunny day with a cool breeze and nary a ripple on the water.

On our way to Delaware City, Delaware, we passed under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Clark took a few pictures.
With a current in our favor, we traveled at a speedy 9.8 knots as we entered the C&D Canal. A lot of wood debris raced along the waterway with us.

When we realized that we would arrive at the Delaware City Marina, we contacted Jeanne and Kenny (
Daybreak) to see if they would be available to get together later. Fortunately, they had a canceled commitment and could meet us at the marina. They offered to drive us to old New Castle, Delaware for dinner. Reminiscent of Williamsburg, Virginia, this town has cobblestone sidewalks and well-preserved historic homes.

Jeanne and Kenny took us to a favorite restaurant of theirs - Jessop's Tavern. In addition to a delicious meal, Clark ordered creamy, homemade ice cream for dessert. (The rest of us were too full from dinner to indulge in dessert.)

Following our fun outing, Kenny dropped us off at the docks, and we said our farewells until next time.
