2024 Bahamas: Emerald Bay Marina

 23 March 2024

We had thunder and lightening storms in the wee hours of the morning but nothing of any concern. Clark is hoping that rain will wash some salt off the boat for him.

Clark started the day with the Chris Parker Weather report. Since we are too far from Georgetown to hear boaters on the Net, we did not tune in for that today. We woke to a gloomy looking day, and although we were up early enough, we saw no sun for a sunrise picture. That also meant we had no sun for our solar panels. Since we are in a slip with no power, Clark ran the generator for hot water and to pump up the batteries.

With threatening weather and no place to go, I decided to take advantage of the internet provided to us by our neighboring boat. The marina WIFI is not good! Thanks to our neighbor, I spent almost the whole day on our boat in the marina updating the blog.

Clark is reading a book about The Nature of Boats that kept him entertained.

A book for the nautically obsessed -
yep, that's Clark alright!

While we waited for a front to appear, we had hot and steamy  weather. On occasion, the sun made an appearance which made the solar panels happy. Clark suggested we move to the Captain's Lounge for air conditioning, but I did not want to drag my computer paraphernalia up there, so we stayed on board.

Clark decided to entertain himself by taking pictures of a few of the mega-yachts docked here.

"Calliope" and "Chop Chop"

"Sweet Lady" from Canada

That front we waited for rolled on in and brought a lot of wind and a significant drop in temperatures with it. Rain pelted down a few times with breaks in between.

We lost internet because of the storm clouds hiding the satellite, so I gave up on blogging to make dinner. After dinner we watched an episode of Remington Steele and then called it a night. We made sure windows and port holes were shut in expectation of rain overnight.
